Valor Investigations serves the public interest by documenting institutional conduct, public records, and systems that affect vulnerable people. Independence matters. Donations support the work, but donors do not receive editorial control, article approval, or special access to unpublished source material.
Conflicts and limitations should be disclosed when they are material to a reader's assessment of a story. Valor covers matters connected to Oregon guardianship, elder care, health-care accountability, and public agencies, including matters where founder Levi Bakke has direct records, litigation, family history, or advocacy experience.
Source protection is handled carefully. Tips are welcome, but the website tip form is not end-to-end encrypted. Sources with sensitive medical, legal, employment, or retaliation concerns should avoid sending unnecessary private data through the web form and should use direct contact to discuss safer transfer options.
Valor does not knowingly publish private medical details, personal addresses, family details, or identifying information unless the public-interest value outweighs the privacy risk and the information is necessary to understand the record. Errors, privacy concerns, and conflict disclosures can be sent to info@valorinvestigates.com.
